Claying your car is a specialist process which removes fine and microscopic contamination in your paint.
By performing a clay on your car, Supernatural can remove this fine contamination as well wax layers to achieve the perfect starting point for restoring that ‘better than factory’ appearance.
Claying a car can also remove paint overspray, industrial fallout, minor rust pitting from sparks or metal filing, salt from ocean spray and discolouration from the environment.
The actual process of claying a car involves a full body wash to remove large debris and dust / dirt, followed by gently ‘rubbing’ the paintwork with either a clay bar or clay towel. It is imperative the correct amount of pressure is used and the clay is well lubricated to ensure no marring or scratching occurs.
Once a car has been clayed it is absolutely essential that a sealant or protective wax is applied. Remember when claying the previous layers of protection will also be removed.
After clay your Supernatural Master detailer may also recommend a polish to enhance the shine prior to applying the sealing wax. Clay is a fantastic option for those who really want the best possible result on their paint finish
Claying can be a difficult and time consuming process and is not something we recommend for you to do yourself unless you have some significant experience. Ideally a car should have a full clay work done every 12 months.
